Oh God, Please Help Me Control My Anger

Oh God, Please Help Me Control My Anger

Why do we hurt the one we love
when things don't go our way,
when we'd be better off if we'd take time
out to just "think before we say" hurtful words?

Our tongue can be so vicious,
unlatching words as poisonous
as the most venomous snake.
Striking straight at the core of our victims heart,
who at the time we think we hate.

We make all kinds of false acquisitions,
and it matters not if they're untrue.
Just as long as we're successful at hurting
the one that we think has hurt us too.

Oh why can't we talk things out gently
rather than let matters get so out of hand,
and before we end up hurting the one we love most,
why not let's try and take a different stand?

bullet

For once harsh words are spoken
we cannot take them back,
and once a hearts been broken,
it's a known fact that it has also been damaged.

So the next time we're feeling angry,
rather than strike like the most venomous snake,
why not let's take the time to change our mind,
or it might just be too late.

bullet

For you see, we're not promised tomorrow;
our loved one could be taken away.
So remember my dear let me make it clear,
let's just "think before we say"
something that we might later regret,
or it might just be too late.
